These paintings are the visual component to an interdisciplinary art project with two brilliant composers; Cornelius Dufallo and Guy Barash. The first 24 paintings were done in response to each innovative one-minute composition with violin and electronics by the composers. The second series of 16 paintings were done simultaneously as the music was created, all three artists working in their disciplines — composers, musicians and painter, sharing their works in progress with each other.
They are painted using P.H. Marten’s watercolors and inks mixed with various mediums, painted on Saunders Waterford paper from St. Cuthberts Mill, England, mounted on acid- free archival board and hand framed in maple.
These 24 painings were done in response to the innovative Minute compositions with violin and electronics by two brilliant composers; Cornelius Dufallo and Guy Barash — the paintings, the visual component of an interdisciplinary art collab project. This video was created to accompany composers Guy Barash and Cornelius Dufallo’s performance in NYC in October of 2024. Vezna photographed each painting after each session in the studio, so the paintings can be seen here in progress, set to the music.
